Welcome to Sabang Daguitan Surf Camp in Dulag Leyte
After our trip to Sohoton Cave and Natural Bridge, we drive from Wespal to Sabang Daguitan Surf Camp in Dulag Leyte. On our entrance, we paid 40 pesos each for the admission fee. There are many beaches here in the Philippines with the same name as Sabang. In fact, there is a Sabang beach in Aurora Baler and the other one is on Puerto Galera. But this Sabang beach from Dulag Leyte is different. It is a surf camp that provides accommodation and surfing lessons as well. Through the help of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, this little paradise was renovated and turned into a tourist spot that mostly surfers enjoy.
Sabang Daguitan Beach
The Sabang Daguitan Surf Camp is not just an ordinary beach. In fact, this is my first time to visit a surf camp area. As you can see on the picture, the sand is not so white and refined. Aside from that, a cool breeze and big waves from the ocean is also noticeable. The beach is very long and from a distance, you will see a bunch of teenagers surfing on the big waves with their surf boards.
My family and I refuse to swim due to the big waves and cool breeze. Though the place is nice, we just thought that it is not a perfect beach for us to swim because we are not great swimmers and besides, who knows where the big waves might bring us.
So we end up taking pictures and appreciating the view instead.
After we got tired, we decided to enter the ‘Balay Kainan’. It’s the main restaurant of the Surf Camp.
This is what the area looks inside. It’s a Filipino theme restaurant with a very cozy ambiance because of the wide open windows around. I always love restaurants or cafe like this. It allows you to enjoy your meal while appreciating the great view outside. Same as the Mountain Brew Cafe in Batangas.
On the other side of the window area is a little garden. Staffs are taking care of these tiny plants well. Most of these are herbs like basil and oregano.
Since my mom loves to pose in front of the camera, I took some cute pictures of her while waiting for the meals that we ordered. Well, I can say that she’s photogenic. haha!
We definitely had a great time. Even though we didn’t got a chance to swim or surf on the big waves of the ocean. We still spend precious moments together by talking and eating merienda together. We just ordered delicious meals like pancit, a cup of coffee for me and for my mom and a pitcher of Mango shake that my sisters shared together.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog. If you want to share something about my experience dining and sight seeing on Sabang Daguitan Surf Camp, feel free to left a comment.
