Calayo Beach Resort and Mountain Brew

Welcome to Calayo Beach Resort

It was the end of the week of April when we went to Calayo Beach Resort to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. As a treat, I decided to look for some places that we can stay in together near the Metro whether it will be in Tagaytay or in Batangas. Since I found a deal in Metrodeal, I bought the voucher for accommodation for 2 person on Calayo Beach Resort for 1,999 pesos instead of 3,500 pesos. And besides as per what is on the voucher, the location of the resort is near the beach that’s why I bought it.

How to Get There?

From Cavite we drive to Nasugbu Batangas. We are scheduled to check in by 2 pm. That’s why we left the house around 10 am because of the almost 3 hours driving due to heavy traffic.

The Resort

The ambiance of the resort is relaxing. It composed of several Nipa huts in which guests could stay in. It has a swimming pool located at the center that is available for all guests. Good thing that it has accessible shower rooms beside the pool. You will also find an Italian restaurant that serves delicious meals inside the resort.

Inside the room

The room is very nice. It is a Bungalow-style nipa hut. I was surprised to get inside the room because of the room’s high ceiling and big area that I think too much for the two of us. It has a kitchen area with complete cooking utensils and a refrigerator also. It has 3 bedrooms. First is the master’s bedroom with 1 huge bed and cabinet, the second one is the bedroom with 2 beds and my favorite one is the bedroom on the attic area with 2 mattresses and electric fan inside it.

The Beach

The beach is almost 80 meters away from the resort. You have to walk through some houses or another resort just to go to the beach. We even walk through some houses with piggery and poultry and endure the foul odor. Unfortunately, we are frustrated to find out that the beach is dirty. The sand is not white and refined and the water is not clear. Despite that we are on our swimming outfits, we just decided to go back to the resort and swim on the resort’s swimming pool instead.

The Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is very clean and satisfactory. Consequently, the management is strict when it comes to the rules and regulation on using the pool. One of those rules are showering first before dipping the pool. Pets on the swimming pool are also not allowed. And the other one is to not be noisy while swimming. Of course, being obnoxious while swimming is a big dismay to the other guests since you are not the only guest on the resort. I love how the management insist guests to practice good manners.

Travel Tips for Staying at Calayo Beach Resort:

  1. Take advantage to use the cooking utensils and refrigerator. You can bring some rice and food and cook it on the room. If you have a car, you can drive to Nasugbu and shop on the market to buy some fresh fishes and etc. since it is just few kilometers away.
  2. There is a corkage fee if you bring food and use the cooking utensils. It cost 150 pesos per pax.
  3. Cooking utensils are complete except for the dish-washing liquid. That’s why you have to bring your own.
  4. The room is very warm despite of having an air-condition. Unfortunately, it can’t cool the entire room. I think that’s the reason why the bedroom has no blanket. Prepare yourself for this.
  5. The room has complete towels, nice bathroom and hot and cold shower. But soap, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste are not included. Again, bring your own.

Mountain Brew

We checked out on the resort around 12 pm. On our way home, we stopped by at the Mountain Brew to eat lunch and try their delicious coffee. This unique and cozy coffee shop is located on Nasugbu-Ternate Highway. What I love about this place is you can enjoy every sip of your Caffe Macchiato with the overlooking view of entrance to Manila Bay with Corregidor island and Bataan in the distance.

We ordered their special breakfast meal for our lunch. I love the  European style of the coffee shop with a twist of a relaxing rural setting.

I hope you enjoy my travel adventure on Nasugbu, Batangas. Feel free to left a comment if you want to share something.
