Aquaria KLCC in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Welcome To Aquaria KLCC

Aquaria KLCC is a world-class aquarium that showcases marine life and animals from Malaysia and around the world.

It is an oceanarium showcasing over 5,000 different exhibits of aquatic and land-bound creatures over a sprawling 60,000 square foot space right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s city center.

How To Go There?

From Kuala Lumpur City Gallery, we traveled to Aquaria KLCC through Teksi (Taxi Cab in Malay) and it took almost 15 minutes to get there. The admission fee on the Aquaria KLCC cost RM64 for adult. The opening hours is from 10:30 am to 8:00 pm and the last admission will be 7:00pm. It is still open during Weekdays and Public Holidays.

Inside the Oceanarium

As we get inside the oceanarium, the place become dimmer. Seeing different aquariums with different sea creatures inside became so exciting. I was terrified with the school of Piranhas on the aquarium. The skulls and skeleton props inside definitely nailed it.

Another aquarium that caught our attention is this eel resting peacefully.

Malaysian Flooded Forest

As we walk on the entire area, This huge cylindrical aquarium with tons of fishes swimming inside is so superb. It is one of the main attraction on the oceanarium. Can you imagine yourself stuck inside this tank with fishes swimming around you? That could be terrifying.

Tunnel with Walkalator

What I definitely love on this Oceanarium is a 90-metre transparent tunnel with a moving walkway that will take you past to the Sand Tiger Sharks, Giant Stingrays, Marine turtles and shoals of other fishes. So for that reason, you’ll got a chance to enjoy the scenery, take pictures of it without walking.

For a tip of advice, once you are inside the tunnel, adjust the settings of your camera into night mode because the light inside is very dim. I guess its because for the guests to appreciate more the beauty of the sea creatures swimming on the entire oceanarium.

The feeling of looking up and seeing the entire habitat of these sea creatures is such a wonderful and remarkable experience. It may be a different world. Such a paradise.

Good thing that we were able to take a shot of this big stingray even it swim very fast.

The Highlight of the Aquaria KLCC

As I gazed on the beauty of the oceanarium, I was so surprised to see this…

…this adorable big sea turtle that swimming in front me. It seems that this sea turtle know that I’m holding a camera because it swims directly in front of me. It definitely amazed me that’s why I immediately took pictures of it.

At first, I wonder that there is a trick on the aquarium glass because the sea turtle appear so big. Because like what I experienced on the Boracay, fishes appear larger because of the specific kind of glass they use so I had a thought that maybe they are doing the same thing. But as I check and found out, this giant sea turtle is much bigger than me. In fact, we just found out that most of the sea creatures inside the aquarium is much bigger in size compare on what the guests see on the outside. So it’s the opposite.

So if I have a thought that this sea turtle size is much like a dog size based on what I see on the glass. Well, maybe in reality, its size is much like a donkey.

And now this sea turtle cutie started to swim away.

Shark Jaws

Near the exit area is a collection of shark jaws replica.

Jelly Fishes

You may thought that these jelly fishes have color, But of course it doesn’t have. As we all know, Jelly fishes’ color is just transparent white. That’s why the color of the lights at the bottom part of the aquarium automatically reflects on the jelly fishes and made them appear adorable and colorful sea creatures swimming inside of the aquarium.

It’s cute how these jellyfishes bounce there bodies like bubbles as they swim.
